Many who make the decision to cross the threshold of the NATIONAL SHRINE OF SAINT FRANCIS OF ASSISI are moved by the message at the heart of the liturgy, by the altar bathed in incense, by the effect of the music, by the beauty of the architecture—and their lives are changed for ever.
 .

Our Lord Jesus Christ himself has said, “My house is a house of prayer” (Luke 19:46). Accordingly,
All visitors must be dressed in a manner of modesty and good taste which is fitting to the sacred character of the place;
Cell phones and pagers must be silent;
No flash photography is allowed during the sacred liturgy;
